Alexa provides sessions via Zoom, Signal and/or Microsoft teams - whatever is most suitable for her clients - all of which are POPI compliant platforms.
Her ability to form strong relationships with her clients allows for a collaborative therapeutic process, helping the client to identify and achieve their goals, whilst fostering independence.
Alexa takes the lead from her clients focusing on their individual needs, allowing her to integrate various therapeutic approaches, tools and techniques to address these most effectively.
Therapeutic Frameworks
Alexa's therapeutic style is drawn from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches, with mindfulness a the core of each of these frameworks.
These tried and tested techniques have proven extremely effective in treating a wide array of mental health issues.These approaches provide a wealth of tools and techniques to assist people in managing unhelpful thinking patterns, difficult emotions, and ways to communicate and manage relationships effectively.
The goal is for the client to gain insight into their patterns of relating to themselves and others, whilst being empowered to shift these patterns to more helpful, compassionate ways of relating to themselves and others.
